One of my favorite events of the year has finally come and once again I was given the opportunity to attend Philippine Fashion Week. Fashion week is one good reason to skip work and watch the most coveted and popular designers and models strut their stuff on the runway. Lucky for me, I was on semestral break.

A friend got me invites to Edgar Sandiego's Fashion show with his very own interpretation of A Midsummer Night's dream, which is actually one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I always saw myself as Helena. To start the day off, I went to my friend Deidre's house where we got ready and waited for our other friend Trix. We were all glammed up but we still tried to look casual as we had planned a hangout/dinner at Mall of Asia. We had just arrived at the venue when a girl approached me and asked if I could be interviewed. At first I thought our whole group was going to get interviewed but later on I found out, I was the only one who was doing the interview. It was awkward for me standing infront of the camera, holding a Philippine Fashion Week TV Microphone and babbling on about my outfit, who I was with, what my fashion beliefs were etcetera etcetera. However, it felt good. Being considered as one of the best dressed guests at the event was an honor.

After my five minutes of fame, we proceeded to the fashionshow inside and were seated at the third row. The show was awesome, and the clothes were really great. One of the models, Giselle Pacque was present at the runway. She's actually a former schoolmate of mine, only a batch higher than I was. She has come so far after winning the Ford Models. I'm really proud of her.

Fashion week is truly a magical event, it's like Disneyland only no rides and castles. I had a very good time watching with my girlfriends. The show was all worth it. :)

I decided to spend the day shopping at Trinoma with my friend, Isabel. I had finally taken my Business Statistics exam and I think I'm gonna pass. To reward myself i went on a shopping spree. It was a long drive from Katipunan to North Avenue since I really hate driving. I let Isabel shop first for her black flats for school, a constant staple in our very unfashionable uniform. She must have tried on every pair that I had picked out for her,yet she she couldn't find a pair that she liked. It was getting ridiculous actually. If it were me, I would have picked out a pair in less then 3 minutes. I'm easily pleased. :) We got hungry after all the shoe fitting so we headed to the food court to grab some light snacks without hurting our wallet. The money was actually intended for shopping and not food. After eating, we had decided to look around for other buys other than shoes. It was when I stumbled on this cute pair of violet tulle skirt. I'm actually a skirt person, and finding a skirt like it was really good news to me. I decided to try it on and guess what, it fit me perfectly. Isa went on about me being a compulsive buyer but I didn't listen. I immediately headed to the cashier and paid for my new skirt. I was all smiles when we left the store and it made Isa feel pressured. She told me she had to find the perfect pair of shoes real fast. For some unknown reason she was excited to make her first purchase of the day.

It was when we finally entered Wade where she found her perfect little pair and purchased them without any second thoughts. Well there were, but she still purchased them anyway. I was so happy for her.

After three long hours at the mall I ended up with five paper bags containing a pair of shoes, a bag, a black studded belt, a tank top and a tulle skirt. And I was satisfied. There's one tiny problem though. How do I explain to my mom that i had spent my school books money on a pair of shoes? She'll be mad. oh well, she'll get over it.

If you're going on a shopping trip, add a short skirt on your list. It could be made of tulle, cotton, silk or whatever type of material you want. Skirts can be no brainer articles of clothing and you'll feel more free compared to wearing jeans or leggings. Pair a skirt with a tanktop, sleeveless shirt or a plain shirt. Dress it up with heels, sneakers or flats. It's up to you. oh, and don't forget accessories, they help make an outfit. Try wearing a headband, or belt, it helps. Just don't over do it. :)

So that's it for today. I'll come back again tomorrow! See you!

P.S. I will be adding pictures real soon, so wait for them.

I've always wanted to have my own fashion blog but I never really got a chance to start one. I've been busy with school, a three year old kid and a boyfriend that I haven't been able to do the things I wanted to do. But today changed all that.

My name is Beat, and I am a frustrated fashion designer and model. I've been modeling for a year now. I'm not signed up on any modeling agency, but i do intend to. Soon. I've also been designing my own clothes, a few of them actually came to life while some, remained at the back pages of my Business Statistics notebook. I'm twenty years old, just a year older than a teenager. So really, I'm very young though most teenagers won't agree with me. I'm a Knoller, for two years now. I got booted off UST's (University of Sto. Tomas, mind you) College of Accountancy two years ago. It didn't really matter much to me, though I kind of miss my friends there. Miriam is a great school, minus the boys. And at least now, I'm taking up the course I really want. Which is Marketing. I'm a Business Administration student major in marketing. Marketing looks like an ordinary major, and when I graduate it will look like I'm going to work an ordinary job. But I know, I won't. I can choose whatever career path i want. Marketing is that broad. Yeah, really.

So enough about that. Let's go to our favorite topic, BOYS! oh, wrong blog. I mean, FASHION! I've been inlove with fashion ever since I could start talking. I love dressing up and I love shopping. I remember spending longer hours at the Rustan's department store with my mother than at toy stores. I liked playing Barbies and dressing them up. I also have fond memories on designing clothes on my barbie dolls. But back then i drew stick people.
I like shopping. I think every girl in the world loves shopping. I mean, who doesn't? It's such a good feeling inside everytime you smell the crisp paper bills in your wallet when you hand it over to the cashier, and she hands you your new found joy. Sweet, isn't it? I for one love designer items. I love Chanel, and I dream of owning a chanel chain bag. My father has yet to fulfill that dream for me. I love Louis Vuitton, sweet sweet Louis Vuitton. I get this kind of high, and my blood rushes and i get lightheaded whenever I walk into Louis Vuitton. Especially when I smell the leather and actually purchase a bag. Such a delightful experience. I'm also a big fan of Hermes. Though it's not really within my budget. Maybe when i grow older. For designers my personal favorites are Ivarluski Aseron and Puey Quiones. oh, and Marc Jacobs of course. for brands however, I have no particular favorite. I shop anywhere and everywhere. From Zara, Topshop, Landmark, Divisoria, ukay ukay and online. Bazaars are my must go tos since they have rare finds like accessories, shoes, bags and cool tops. It's enough reason for me to go village hopping around October and November when the bazaars are all over the place. You should try them too.

I can never describe my personal style. I just think it's ever changing. I mean I guess it goes for everyone else. I've had a lot of phases. Some I liked, while some I don't want to remember anymore. One good example is the Elephant Jeans phase. I bought like the largest pair of flairs at Havoc, which is no longer existent. I would beg my dad to buy me pair despite his distaste in them. He called them Walis pants since it was like I sweeping the floor with them. Now when I look back, I realized i did look ridiculous in them. I also went through a Jeans-Tshirt-Havs phase which i liked. I was pretty simple then since i was too lazy to dress up. Well, the real reason was I couldn't shell out money for clothes like dresses coz all my money went to the drinking sprees I had with my friends. But I eventually learned my lesson.

So now you know so much about me :) I guess all that information is enough. i will be back in a jiffy to fill you in on my fashion knowledge. I plan on filling this blog with new finds on stores that are rarely visited, my recent discoveries on clothes, make up, restaurants even. ( i love eating, and looking for new restos). I will also post the season's trend report which you can refer to. Oh, and please remember, I'm very friendly. You can leave comments on blog entries that you liked. And, you may also ask me stuff on where to buy shiz, what to buy, stuff like that :) Don't be shy okay?

Thanks everyone. I hope you like my new baby ♥
